The ILM’s Love Your Legacy Manager campaign got off to a cracking start on Wednesday (25 September) as dozens of CEOs, directors and legacy teams logged on to the official launch webinar.
Hosted by ILM CEO Matthew Lagden, the event began with an overview of the ILM and the inspiration for the campaign, which was born out of the ILM member survey earlier in the year; followed by presentations from Kathryn Horsley of Legacy Foresight and Stephen Rowland from Farewill.
The guest presentations featured a host of information and guidance, including insight into the factors driving legacy income growth and forecasts for the decades ahead; as well as tips on how to get started with a legacy marketing programme and examples of successful campaigns.
Ahead of the webinar, the ILM launched their short video, ‘What does it mean to be a Legacy Manager?’, featuring a variety of members talking about why they love their role, success stories they have achieved and why it is so important to build relationships with supporters – thank you to all those who generously gave their time to help us put this together.
Among the post-webinar comments received were:
· “New learning for me and provided a great understanding of legacy management for my own personal and professional knowledge”
· “Perfect timing for the topic”
· “I need to think about an email campaign and consider the demographics discussed”
Matthew said afterwards: “We were absolutely thrilled with the response and the fabulous feedback received. Our Love Your Legacy Manager campaign is here to stay and we believe we can help make a real difference in raising the profile of the work, knowledge and expertise that legacy teams bring to their role every single day of the week.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has already contributed, to those who continue to do so by supporting the ongoing campaign and our incredibly popular Time for Tea initiative – and to those joining us this week for the first time. The support has been amazing, we couldn’t have done it without you and we hope this marks the beginning of a new era for charity legacy managers.”
